Dear PRISM Members,
 
I was honored to begin my term as President of PRISM International on January 1 of this year. In what I expect to be a dynamic year of change for our organization, regular communication among us is paramount. With that in mind, I ask you take a few minutes of your valuable time to read the thoughts below.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: UNAUTHORIZED TRAVEL AGENCY SOLICITING PRISM INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS FOR CONFERENCE HOUSING

Starting this morning, the PRISM International headquarters office began receiving calls from members who had been solicited by a travel agency requesting credit card information for conference housing. The company is called BME Business Travel and is not affiliated in any way with PRISM International or our conference.
 
I have filed a complaint with the Convention and Visitor's Bureau in Las Vegas. They will notify the appropriate authorities. In the meantime, please note the following:
 
We do not know whether this company is legitimate and members should use extreme caution in dealing with this company.
 
ALL PRISM INTERNATIONAL HOUSING FUNCTIONS ARE HANDLED EITHER BY HEADQUARTERS STAFF OR BY CMIG (CAROLINA MEETINGS AND INCENTIVES GROUP).
 
BME Business Travel IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH PRISM INTERNATIONAL. Members who choose to respond to their offers do so at their own risk.

For many of us, November is the time of year we reflect on all that we are thankful for – particularly special people in our lives. I'm dedicating this month's newsletter to the exceptional staff of PRISM International . This includes Executive Director Jim Booth, Director of Events and Vendor Relations Melissa Burton, Director of Finance Wendy Gordon, Director of Marketing Kathy Lewis and Administrative Assistant Sam Autry.

As you're probably aware by now, Jim will be leaving the Association in May 2012. Shortly thereafter, the PRISM office in North Carolina will be closed and an association management company will take over day-to-day operations. While I'm confident the management company will continue to build upon Jim and the team's legacy of success, I'm just as confident they do not fully appreciate what big shoes they have to fill.

DATE AND LOCATION OF 2012 ASIA PACIFIC REGION CONFERENCE ANNOUNCED

The 2012 Asia Pacific Region Conference has been scheduled and arrangements with the host hotel have been finalized. The conference will be held on 27-29 February, 2012, at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Manila, Philippines. Dusit Thani is located in the Makati City area of Manila. PRISM International's TG2 is finalizing details of the conference and preparing conference materials. Information should be available for members in November.

NEW VERSION OF BUSINESS ASSOCIATE AGREEMENT UPLOADED TO RESOURCES AREA OF PRISM COMMUNITY:

Following several months of collaborative work a revised version of the Business Associate Agreement is available for members to reference. PRISM International would like to especially recognize Gail Bisbee for her significant contributions to completing this document. In addition, PRISM is grateful to Iron Mountain legal counsel Garry Watzke for taking the time to review and suggest improvements to the document. Even though clients who are Covered Entities under HIPAA may provide their own BAAs to PRISM members, the PRISM version provides a comparison document.

Access Information Management, leading provider of records management storage and destruction services for hardcopy and electronic records, announced the acquisition of the assets of Washington Archives Management. This acquisition represents a strategic expansion of Access' service coverage in the Washington State region, including Seattle, Tacoma and the state capital, Olympia.

(CRMI) has published the 2012 schedule for their Document Imaging School, taking place at their Greenville, NC document imaging operation.  Gail Bisbee, President/CEO of CRMI, says, “I have had so many requests for document imaging consultation that this venue will allow me to provide support to a larger audience in a shorter time frame.”
