Potential Combining of PRISM International and NAID

Chicago, IL (March 14, 2018) — PRISM International is pleased to announce to our members a proposed combination with The National Association of Information Destruction (NAID).

This would combine services of both parties to yield a wider range of records and information management, security and data protection offerings from a single, stronger industry association. As proposed, the combination will allow the two existing organizations to live on as divisions of the combined association so there is no loss of either brand equity.

The new association will generate a unified mission in information management and data security. It will serve to ensure the future of the PRISM organization and create greater economic resources by which to convey and promote the PRISM message to regulators, customers, and the public at large.

In order to pave the way for the potential combination, the PRISM Board of Directors on February 19, 2018, unanimously voted to adopt what would be the combined association’s bylaws, as well as confirmed by their unanimous vote to transfer the assets of the existing organization into a newly named association entity. A few days earlier, on February 14, 2018, the NAID Board of Directors also unanimously voted to proceed with the proposal under the amended bylaws.

Prior to the combining of these associations becoming a reality, members of both organizations must ratify the decision of their boards. For NAID, that ratification will be accomplished by electronic ballot, which will be sent to their voting member representatives on March 26. The process will conclude April 6, 2018.
