PRISM Announces Partnership with Data Management Institute for a Postconference Workshop at the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference and Exhibit

Chicago, IL (March 15, 2017) — PRISM International is pleased to announce a partnership with the Data Management Institute (DMI) which will result, among things, in a post conference workshop to be held at the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference. The Data Management Institute is a membership organization designed to establish a professional identity for those who administer, manage and design data storage infrastructure for their organizations. The post conference workshop will take place on May 11 in conjunction with the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference which will be held at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ, May 8–10.

By 2020, with between 10 to 60 zettabytes of new data finding their way into storage infrastructure, the key challenge confronting IT organizations, whether corporate or cloud-based, will be that of finding enough space to store data cost-effectively. Data storage technology acquisitions already account for up to 70% of IT hardware budgets, and with mounting interest in amassing data from the Internet of Things and mining data for their business value, the need to provision hosting resources efficiently and to ensure that data receives the right combination of protection, preservation and privacy services are front of mind issues for IT planners. In this workshop, Jon Toigo, Chairman of the Data Management Institute, will explore and outline a next generation data management strategy. Attendees of the session will receive the Data Management Institute’s Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certificate. Thanks to a partnership with Dternity, the solutions group part of FujiFilm, and StrongBox Data Solutions (SDS); PRISM and DMI will be able to provide this post conference workshop free of charge to registered conference attendees.

“We are delighted to partner with DMI and Dternity on this post conference session” says Claire Gallagher, Director of Integrations & Compliance for OASIS Group and President of PRISM International. “This session answers a need for a strategy that combines a data management policy framework, storage services management and storage resources management processes, and in addition will bring yet another future-thinking thought leader to an already very exciting PRISM International Conference.” Additional information about the workshop and the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference can be found at www.prismintl.org.

Jon Toigo is a veteran with more than 20 years of IT operations and management experience both inside corporate IT organizations and as an external consultant, and is also a noted author of 13 books on information technology, including what some critics regard as the Bible of storage technology—"The Holy Grail of Data Storage Management" (Prentice Hall PTR: 2000)—and several editions of "Disaster Recovery Planning," a practical guide to contingency planning used by organizations throughout the world. Toigo is also a prominent columnist for several online and print magazines covering IT, including SearchStorage.com, Enterprise Systems Journal online (esj.com), and Storage Networking World online.

PRISM Partners with AIIM

PRISM Announces Partnership with AIIM for a Preconference Workshop at the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference and Exhibit

Chicago, IL (February 15, 2017) — PRISM International is pleased to announce a partnership with the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) which will result, among things, in a pre-conference workshop to be held at the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference. AIIM is a non-profit membership organization that provides education, market research, certification and standards for information professionals. This pre-conference workshop will take place on May 8 in conjunction with the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference which will be held at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ, May 8-10.

AIIM has found that the growth in IT spending is coming from the business buying IT, not IT staff buying IT. Seventy-five percent of business leaders want to meet with sales staff that can provide them with new business insights; they want to learn about the business benefits, not the technology. AIIM has researched best practices for selling solutions among 250+ solution providers, and also asked 300+ technology buyers about their priorities and preferences. The workshop, titled “How to Sell Capture/ECM/BPM to Business Leaders”, will leverage this research and focus on how companies can grow their capture, ECM, and BPM sales by educating their sales force and business consultants about how to best identify and engage business leaders for selling solutions.

“We are delighted to partner with AIIM on this preconference session” says Claire Gallagher, Director of Integrations & Compliance for OASIS Group and President of PRISM International. “We believe this session will answer a need that has been voiced by our membership, and bring yet another future-thinking thought leader to an already very exciting PRISM International Conference.” Additional information about the workshop and the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference can be found at www.prismintl.org.

Atle Skjekkeland, a Senior Vice President at AIIM, will present the workshop. Skjekkeland is a technologist, educator, and innovator and is a frequent speaker and author on the future of information management with social, mobile, cloud, and big data. Atle is also the architect behind AIIM’s training programs with close to 30,000 students; he has a Master of Science degree from Norwegian School of Economics and has lived just outside Washington, DC for the last 9 years.

The ICRM is an international certifying organization of and for professional records and information managers. The ICRM was incorporated in 1975 to create a standard by which persons involved in records and information management could be measured, accredited and recognized according to criteria of experience and capability as established by their peers. An ICRM post conference Exam Prep Workshop will take place on May 11 in conjunction with the 2017 PRISM International Annual Conference which will be held at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ, May 8-10.

On September 24, 2016, the ICRM announced its newest credential, the Certified Records Analyst (CRA). A CRA candidate must pass Parts 2-4 to achieve this certification. In this post conference session, attendees will receive an introduction to ICRM Certification, a detailed overview of the material covered in Parts 1-5 (including 20 sample questions for each part), and an overview of Part 6, the case study portion of the exam, with strategic tips for passing as well as the Pearson VUE electronic testing environment.

Andrew Ysasi, MS, CRM, CIPM, CIPP, PMP, IGP, the Executive Director of Kent Records Management, sits on both the PRISM International an ICRM Boards, and will facilitate the workshop: “There is no better way to prepare for the ICRM certification process than to attend this type of session designed to equip you with the knowledge, tools and strategies for passing this rigorous examination. The information shared by ICRM professionals will be invaluable to those looking to publicly demonstrate their expertise and commitment to records management.”

“We are delighted to partner with ICRM on this post conference session and in other initiatives as well” says Claire Gallagher, Director of Acquisitions and Integrations for OASIS Group and President of PRISM International. “We are big supporters of ICRM certification and the standards the credential represents and are pleased to offer this opportunity to PRISM members.
