UK Business Shredall Secures Certification

Awarded ISO 27001 Certificate by NQA

February 17, 2016 - Nottingham - UK-based firm Shredall has been awarded the ISO 27001 certificate by the global certification body, NQA, in recognition of its high standards of data security management.

This certification, acknowledges Shredall’s strategic and operational approach to protecting its nationwide client base against cybercrime, data breaches, viral attacks, and other security risks, both online and offline.

The ISO 27001 certificate demonstrates the firm’s ability to prioritise, integrate and cross-reference security measures such as risk management process/assessment on its staff, internal processes and IT systems, which are indicative of Shredall’s compliance to legal requirements, such as the Data Protection Act.

The firm’s data security management was reported as ‘pleasing’ by the NQA auditor, who commented: “Shredall’s management have demonstrated a good level of understanding, awareness and commitment to their information security management system. Their internal audits have been well implemented, with good findings, thus giving reliance and credence on them.”

Shredall’s Compliance Manager, Carole Woolhouse, said: “Data protection is something we take very seriously at Shredall; it’s at the core of what we do. Our clients rely on us to store their business documents and ensuring these remain confidential is paramount in the digital age.”

“Obtaining the ISO 270001 certificate allows us to convey to our customers just how seriously we take data protection. Customers can now archive their files with us with the peace of mind that they won’t be under threat from competitors, cyber criminals and fraudsters.”

The ISO 27001 certificate builds on an extensive repertoire of quality marks held by Shredall, including certificates related to quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001) and health and safety (BS OHSAS 18001).

With a projected turnover of five million in 2016, this latest certification positions Shredall as an ethically-run, family business that continues to grow year-on-year. CEO Lloyd Williams reaffirms the company’s objective as it enters its 19th year of business: “Our aim for the future is the same as it’s always been – to store, scan or shred our clients’ records securely and to cover all aspects of records management.”
