Irvine, CA, Nov. 15, 2012 - It seemed like it was made for the big screen. A Hollywood, blockbuster movie. “Frankenstorm” Sandy with a thousand-mile wing-span. Bulls eye: the East Coast areas and one of the hardest hit - Staten Island, New York, the hometown of one of O’Neil Software’s employees.
And then it came. Staten Island roadways, residential and coastal communities flooded. Houses caught on fire. Storm waters rose killing and devastating the lives of people, their property and treasured small-town memories. Days later, Staten Island residents were still pleading for food and water, while others tried to survive cold temperatures without heat, electricity and necessities. Generators, that could provide power, sat idle in parking lots. Multitudes of people had no place to stay. And while there was gasoline at filling stations, most of them didn’t have power to run the pumps, so people were unable to get off the small island to higher ground, shelter, warmth and safety.

The Publications Task Group of PRISM International has accepted a proposal from Brightstone Insurance and Brightstone Consulting to revise the PRISM International publication “Insurance and Risk Transfer Guideline”. The publication was created in 2000 to help members of the industry understand the fundamentals of insurance and risk. This will mark the first revision of the publication.
As a part of the revision process, Brightstone Insurance has been collecting sample insurance policies from members of the commercial information management industry. While the data has been helpful, the data sample has been relatively small. A second, broader, survey of the industry will be sent to all industry operators on Tuesday, October 23. This survey seeks to measure key data points regarding current industry insurance practices so that the resulting data can be incorporated into the final publication. The deadline for survey response is October 30, 2012.
One of the key areas of concern for industry operators is effectively managing the risks associated with data breaches. This risk exposure was not addressed in the previous edition of the publication. The publication will also examine industry trends regarding managing risks associated with catastrophic loss events including special coverage to manage disaster and incident response and revenue replacement beyond the normal scope of business interruption coverage.
The actual date of publication release will be reported by PRISM International following its document review process. A tentative project timetable calls for the publication to be completed in time for the 2013 PRISM International Annual Conference. Brightstone Insurance will be prepared to review the results of the study with members of the industry at that conference.
Any member currently involved in the commercial information management industry is welcome to participate in the survey. For a web link to participate contact Jim Booth, Records and Information Management Practice Leader at Brightstone Insurance by e-mail at jbooth@brightstoneins.com.

A Reflection Of Where The Company Is Headed Not Where It Has Been
Irvine, California — We all know about the necessity of maintenance when it comes to our health, house and cars. Ignore your health and you’ll probably get sick. Avoid painting your house and over time, it will rot. And if you don’t change the oil in your car frequently, you’ll eventually have to replace your engine.
The same truth applies to a website. Nowadays, simply having a website for your business is not good enough. If you neglect it, it’ll provide little benefit in return. So your website is definitely not something you create and then forget about.
O’Neil Software, The First Choice of Record Centers Worldwide, understands that the success of their website relies a great deal on the amount of attention and maintenance they put into it, which is why the company redesigns it regularly.
Delmont, PA – Step inside the world of Allegheny Shredders as you visit our new website at
www.alleghenyshredders.com. See our powerful equipment in action, learn about our history as
the industry pioneer, and learn how you can be successful in the information destruction
industry.

“Not long ago, websites were created to ensure that companies had some type of representation online,” notes Ian Thomas, Executive Vice President of O’Neil Software. “However, in this fast-paced world, web design, digital Marketing and web development are changing almost daily. So it’s extremely important that your website change with the times and stay fresh and updated,” he adds. “Consistently accurate and up-to-date information promotes customers’ trust in who they’re dealing with. It’s a visible confirmation of a proactive company, one that is aware and changing with the world around it. And who, in all probability, will do the same with its customers.”
Because a good web design is an online storefront, a primary goal of O’Neil’s redesigned website is to provide valuable, up-to-date content, to keep visitors coming back. If a site doesn’t change and meet the needs of its visitors, it gives them no reason to return, Because they have already seen it, it holds no more value.
Fresh material added regularly keeps O’Neil’s visitors returning to find out the latest on the company’s products, activities and services within the records storage and management industry. So expect to see new press releases; Marketing and Technical articles; product upgrades and updates; case studies; customer testimonials and blogs. This content serves as a valuable resource for their visitors and shows prospects how actual customers are benefiting from the use of O’Neil’s software and its services. The newly redesigned website also features new graphics and images, to visually inform and assist in building visitor traffic.
Additionally, O’Neil wanted to create an easy browsing experience. If visitors get lost or confused during their online travels, chances are they won’t return to the website. So faster access to information was key. No more searching through a lot of pages, looking for information buried behind menus and options. O’Neil provides as much information as possible, with just two or three clicks of the mouse.
Other new features of O’Neil’s redesigned website include: greater user access controls, which means the company can tailor content based on whether the visitor is logged in, or not and by region; “a latest news” portal created for registered users, providing instant access to the latest User Forum posts, news and downloads; a completely re-vamped Support page, with quicker access to downloads, Marketing materials, How To Guides and more; an updated “download center,” making it much easier to identify and get the updates visitors require.; news releases and updates have been moved out of the User Forum; and the ability to comment on articles and downloads, to help others by providing your feedback, without having to go to the User Forum.
Scan. Store. Manage. Deliver.™ Committed to leading the industry for over 30 years, O’Neil has been the records management software and hardware solutioneers™ for over 1,000 facilities, in more than 80 countries, from start-ups to multi-nationals. LONDON, August 29, 2012 -- The Crown team has continued its mission of sustainability and reducing the company’s overall carbon footprint through several wide-reaching projects with the Plant a Tree Today Foundation (PATT), a UK-registered charity and Thai foundation dedicated to combating climate change and providing economic, social and environmental sustainability through community-based forestry projects in developing countries.
As part of Crown Worldwide Group’s ongoing Destination Green initiative, Crown United Kingdom and Ireland (UKI) donated more than £10,000 to PATT in 2011, with the objective of offsetting carbon dioxide (CO2) emission - the cause of global warming. The funds supported Thailand’s Khao Yai Forest Restoration Project, which was established in April 2010 to help restore the forest and biological habitants of this ecologically sensitive area. Khao Yai is home to a number of endangered plant and animal species of the world.
The project not only assists with conservation efforts in the region, such as providing increased habitat for wildlife and preventing erosion, but also reduces the impact of climate change globally through reforestation. Furthermore, the project benefits present and future generations of rural Thai community members as villagers earn money in exchange for planting, protecting and maintaining the trees. Through these recycling and environmental initiatives, Crown UKI aimed to remove 1,866 tons of CO2 emission put in the atmosphere in 2010.
In the past years, staff members from Crown’s Bangkok branch have visited the first restoration project site on behalf of Crown UKI to assist in various planting and gardening tasks. The two branches have been working in conjunction with one another to support Crown’s commitment to environmental sustainability. A recent PATT report shows that in total 5,354 trees were planted in 2011 as a result of this initiative, and the Bangkok staff is already eager to continue to show its support for this project once again. Leon Hulme, Crown Thailand general manager, and his Bangkok team are heading to Khao Yai in the upcoming week to continue their hands-on support for PATT.
This year, Crown plans to donate more than £5,000 to PATT to continue the funding of this project. It is estimated that approximately 1,450 tons of CO2 in total will be absorbed in 2012 through the planting of up to 2,500 new native Thai trees.
Crown UKI and PATT have been in partnership since 2008 and have planted more than 7,500 trees in Thailand in an attempt to reduce nearly 5,000 metric tons of carbon to date through the foundation’s efforts. For further information on PATT, please visit http://www.pattfoundation.org/ and for more information on Crown Worldwide Group’s Destination Green initiative, please visit http://www.crownworldwide.com/cww/destination.green.html.

Johannesburg, July, 31, 2012 - Crown Relocations Johannesburg brought hope and gifts to the Spring of Education nursery school for underserved children in the Alexandra Township on July 18th, President Mandela’s birthday, to commemorate his eternal plea for all to champion the future of the youth of the land.
Nineteen Crown staff members planned a visit to the Spring of Education nursery school at the Alexandra Township in Johannesburg, South Africa, a severely underserved area with a history of unrests and political and economical hardships. The team arrived at the school on this special day with the Crown mascot, Leon the Lion, much to the delight of the children. They were treated with gifts - each received a Crown truck gift box filled with fun items such as coloring books, crayons, candy, snacks, juice, and seasonal fresh fruit.
Kobus Jacobs, branch manager, commented, "This has been quite a humbling experience for me. These children are growing up in absolute poverty. We should support programs such as Spring of Education that help give them a chance to get out of the difficult circumstance they are in and grow up healthy and equipped to pursue their dreams."
The Crown team also pledged to sponsor the daily costs of transporting a few children to school and back to their homes. Many of the parents cannot afford to pay the cost of transportation, and the children have missed school as a result. The monthly donation will be raised through voluntary contributions by the Crown Johannesburg team.
Margie Clark, general manager – Global Mobility Services, said after the visit, "‘The delight on those little faces as they played with our mascot, Leon the Lion; touched my heart. To show their appreciation of our small gesture, they gave us all plenty of hugs and kisses, particularly when it was time for us to leave. I was so struck by how a little bit of time spent with them, and a little kindness and love shown to these children can go such a long way."

Wincanton Records Management (WRM) is pleased to announce the arrival of their new fleet of vehicles with a newly designed livery, on hand to service their customers throughout the UK and Ireland.
The newly acquired vehicles are a sign of WRM’s continual commitment and investment in new innovations as the demand for their services grows. As well as directly replacing vehicles, the new fleet now contains a greater mix of vehicle type to support their clients changing needs. With the impact of the snow over recent years, many of the new vehicles are also 4WD. This will ensure that WRM continues to maintain regular service through these difficult weather conditions with records being delivered safely.
The new fleet comes with a newly designed livery that complements the brand refresh of the company that started with an overhaul of their website in April this year. The new vehicles have a sleek silver finish, with contact details and a brief description of some of the services WRM offers on the sides.
David Woolley, Development Director of WRM, comments: “One of our core values at WRM is to shape our services around our customers’ needs and the introduction of the enhanced and newly designed liveried vehicles are a direct response to feedback we received from our customers. We are operating in an increasingly pressurised marketplace and it’s important that we continue to innovate and respond to the changing demands of our clients. We started with the introduction of all wheel drive vehicles during the winter last year and are introducing two mobile shredding vehicles this year, so the new liveried vehicles were a natural next-step to ensure our transport services remain unrivalled in the industry.”
The new vehicles will be equipped with the highest standards of security, including temperature-controlled sealed containers, dual key starting systems and GPS tracking devices. WRM is also gearing up for the Olympic games that are just around the corner, ensuring a stringent contingency plan is in place to deal with the additional traffic in the capital and to help maintain an uninterrupted service to its customers.
WRM has ten state of the art records management centres across the UK, storing more than 20 million documents in total, ranging from criminal records to world war reconnaissance photographs. They provide a full end-to-end service that manages and cares for records from creation through to destruction, and every step in between.

On July 11, 2012 Brightstone Insurance began a long-term project to collect insurance data for the commercial information management industry. Reports on these industry insurance practices will be used to inform insurance underwriters of current insurance coverage utilized by the commercial information management industry, eventually leading to more precise underwriting practices.
“Once we can put this data into the hands of underwriters, they will have a much better knowledge base to price more competitively and offer specific coverage needed by the industry,” said Jeff Ice, principal at Brightstone Insurance. “One of our main duties as an agency that specifically serves the commercial information management industry is to educate underwriters regarding industry-specific needs. The data we collect during this project will be critical to accomplishing these educational objectives. This will lead to better and more cost-effective insurance products for the industry,” he added.
The industry-wide survey is being led by Jim Booth, Records and Information Management Practice Leader at Brightstone. Booth is the former Executive Director at PRISM International. “This is a great first project for me to engage in as a new Brightstone employee. By combining my experience in the industry with this data collection, it will be a great way to educate myself on specific concerns of operators of records and information management companies,” said Booth.
The project seeks to collect insurance policies in force for the industry. Data from these policies will then be cumulated to arrive at standard practices and specialized coverage needed for certain aspects of the industry such as data protection, imaging, shredding and less obvious related businesses such as moving and storage, self-storage, data repositories, consulting and other related services. All insurance information will be held confidentially by Brightstone and will be shared only with insurance underwriters seeking to serve the industry with various insurance products.
“We have already developed several specialized products that are unique to this industry,” Ice stated. “With this project we intend to move into the mainstream property, casualty, auto and worker’s compensation coverages that are common to all operators within the industry so that these coverages can be adjusted to accommodate specific industry needs.”
For more information, or to participate in the research project, contact Jim Booth by e-mail at jbooth@brightstoneins.com or by direct line at 919-323-3266.

It’s been said that “Some things just get better with age,” and such is the case with O’Neil Software and their continuous technology upgrades. No sooner did they release their RS-SQL Version 4.03, they’ve now announced yet another, with more new cool features—RS-SQL Version 4.04.
“Technology is an extremely important element of business. Not only does it provide multiple ways of communicating with customers and enhancing service, it automates many of the processes involved in running a business,” notes Ian Thomas, Executive VP of O’Neil Software. “With the application of technology, critical and time-consuming processes can be executed with ease and in less time. It reduces the work burden and delivers speed, audit and accuracy improvements.”
RS-SQL Interface Highlights
More Freedom! RSMobile® Processing Now Available as a Windows® Service, Ensuring That Processing Takes Place Continuously, Whether You Are Logged In or Not. Currently, processing had to be initiated at a workstation. Instead, you can install the new RSMobile Processing Service during the installation of RS-SQL on one computer or server in your network environment and allow processing to run continuously in the background. This service is configured to automatically start up, so anytime your server is rebooted, the RSMobile Processing Service will start up without any user intervention.
Once installed, you can view the RSMobile Processing Service from the services console on your computer or server. Here you can also stop, or restart the service if necessary, as well as confirm that the service is set to auto-start. As with many new features of their software, new user function access options are introduced which allow you to determine which users can temporarily pause the RSMobile Processing Service , as well as which users can reset the processing tallies that are visible in the new RSMobile Processing Monitor.
In addition to this service, there is a new tray application that monitors RSMobile processing status and counts. This service and tray application can be installed along with all the other RS-SQL features.
Greater Visibility! RSMobile Processing Monitor Option Enables You to View the Status Of Processing and Counts, from Any Computer in Your Network That Has It Installed. Once installed, you can launch the monitor on your computer; see the current status of processing; and determine whether you are using the new RSMobile Processing Service or the traditional method. Even if you choose not to use the RSMobile Processing Service, you can still install and use the RSMobile Processing Monitor, to ensure that processing is being completed.
The RSMobile Processing Monitor will also provide you with a tally of activity that has been processed. Any container, file folder, or tape activity counts will be visible here, in addition to a tally of the exceptions that have been recorded. At the bottom of the RSMobile Processing Monitor, you’re also able to see when the tallies began accumulating. Anytime that the RSMobile Processing Count is reset by a user with appropriate function access, the date and time stamp will be updated and the tallies will restart at zero.
A Sub-Account Invoice Report Breaks Down Charges on an Invoice to the Sub-Account Level. Ever had a customer that wants to receive a single invoice for all of their departments, but then expects you to provide a detailed breakdown of the invoice by each department?
The new Sub-Account Invoice Report is designed to do just this - break down the charges on the invoice to the sub-account level. Using RS-SQL Reporting Services, the system will gather the sub-account invoice detail that was generated during the invoice creation, or reprint process and present you with a nicely formatted pdf report. This report also includes a summary of the sub-account costs; a detailed section for each sub-account; and shows how the charges were calculated and distributed. Invoices will print as usual; however, sub-account invoice detail information will also be generated.
A new Storage Detail Report Quickly Shows Customers and Your Staff How This Amount Is Calculated. In the past, it was sometimes difficult to identify how new storage was calculated. However, with the New Storage Detail Report, you can quickly get a breakdown of the items that are being billed for new storage.
You’ll see information for each object code including the add date; description; unit volume; quantity; unit volume quantity; the number of days the object was in storage, as well as prorated quantities and volumes. The New Storage Detail Report quickly shows you how the new storage calculations on your invoice were made and can be extremely helpful in answering customer questions with regard to your invoicing.
